Import of excel into Estimates

I need some help. Is there a way to import the data from excel. I am creating a long estimate over 150 lines. Is there a way I can just import this data into the estimate invoice because copy and paste is too much work for me.

Importing your invoices to QuickBooks Online (QBO) is possible, @PRECIOUSs. However, doing the same for purchase orders is currently not supported. Let me share some steps on how we can complete both processes.

Firstly, it's important to note that there are limited information on what you can import to QuickBooks. Here are the following:

  • Bank Data
  • Customers
  • Suppliers
  • Chart of Accounts
  • Products and Services
  • Invoices
  • Credit Notes
  • Sales Receipts
  • Bills
  • Journal Entries

For more information, visit this article: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

Before importing your invoices, please keep in mind that you can upload up to 100 invoices at once, with a maximum of 1,000 rows per spreadsheet. You may include one or multiple line items and import various customers, suppliers, or products and services. However, discounts, credit memos, and negative amounts cannot be included.

To import your invoices inside QuickBooks, please follow the steps I'll share below:

  1. Prepare your spreadsheet using CSV format and ensure the information is correctly inputted.
  2. Turn on custom transactions number.
  3. Upload your file into QuickBooks.
  4. Map your import field accurately and make sure that your VAT code is entered correctly.

For detailed instructions, please check out this article: Import multiple invoices at once in QuickBooks Online.

Since purchase orders can't be imported directly, I recommend exploring third-party applications that can assist you with this task. To find one, here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO.
  2. Go to Apps, then Find apps.
  3. Search or browse for apps that can help you in this process.

Additionally, you can check out this article that outlines the balances and payments of your customer in an informative way: Run an accounts receivable ageing report in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to respond to this post if you need any further assistance with importing data into QuickBooks. We'll be around to lend you a hand.
