Can't delete Pay Scheduls

I am using QBO. 

I have 2 pay schedules, a monthly one and a weekly one. 

I am in the monthly one and in the weekly one was another employee who is a leaver. He is showing in the system as a leaver and is no longer on the active employee list. P45 issued etc. 

How do I delete the weekly pay schedule linked with this user? The "Delete" button is greyed out.

Hi email4, it's not possible to delete a pay schedule once you've ran this, instead, you would simply no longer select this schedule going forward.

So every time i "miss" it and it gives me errors and overdue on my reports I just ignore it?

This isn't the impression we want to leave with you. 

 

In the meantime, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Payroll Support agents so they can check your account if there are missing data that is required during payroll setup. Since they have the specific tools to do further investigation. 

 

To reach us, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. Click on Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with support (Chat, Callback, Etc.).

I had the same problem.  I rang and was told that the payroll could not be deleted on a standard payroll.  Only the advanced payroll gives this functionality.  As payroll administrator you cannot simply ignore this issue as when it comes to year end the payroll will not advance to the next year until all the (unnecessary) weekly submissions have been done.

Here’s how you can submit feedback in QuickBooks Online (QBO):

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile column, click on Feedback.
  3. Share your feedback. Then, click Next.

Same problem here - like most accountants we don't like this mess in our payroll centre. Understandably there will be times when one has to run payroll for a leaver at a different time from other staff. These are by their nature one-off events, not regular weekly features!

 

Can we ask for an "ignore" button or something similar, please. In a database driven piece of software, all things must be possible - we're just asking you to enable us to remove an unnecessary reminder flag, please.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) currently doesn't offer a feature that allows you to edit or delete pay schedules based on your business preferences. However, it's worth noting that QuickBooks Online frequently updates its features and functions, and it's a great suggestion to our software engineers to consider adding this capability in the future.

Many thanks for the reply - I see this is a regular response, and I'm glad to hear from you.

 

Given that this is a Quickbooks feedback community, would it be possible for you to use this feedback rather than adding this extra step? We are all providing you with feedback, questions, and in some cases solutions to problems. It feels like you're missing a trick here not using our feedback, and asking us to feedback again to your technical team ...

Thanks for your additional input, Chris. We do see how this would ease the process; currently, feedback is submitted from the customer end and customer demand is an important factor in whether or not the request reaches a development phase. 

 

We've also recently released QuickBooks Idea Exchange for UK users, a place where ideas can be collated and voted for by other Community members. Any post that reaches 50 votes will then be considered by our Product team.

Quickbooks has ZERO interest in customer's needs, as evidenced by this and other posts that have had the same ongoing issue for literal years.  If you (quickbooks you, not the poor person assigned to deal with these messages) if you Quickbooks continue to try to force everyone in to QBO away from Desktop, how about fix some of these years-long issues?
