FPS submission keeps failing it says to contact you

Welcome to the Online Community, emilystjosephpre.

May I know the specific error message you receive? This is to check if it’s similar to the one that’s being worked on by our engineers.

If you receive this message, There was an issue submitting your filing. Wait a moment and try again. If the problem continues, contact us (INV-41168).

We have an open ticket about this issue, so I recommend you get in touch with our QBO Care Team. This is to ensure your company is added to the list of affected users.

After signing up, you’ll be notified via email once there’s progress on the investigation. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon at the top to select the Contact Us link.
  2. This will open another window where you can enter the issue/topic.
  3. Once done, click on the Let’s talk button to view the support information.
  4. Choose how you want to contact our QBO Care Team: Start a chat or Call us.

If this isn’t the error, any additional information or screenshots you can provide me will help to ensure a timely solution. While waiting for the details, check the Payroll Settings and make sure the information entered in the HMRC is also mirrored in QuickBooks.

Any details missed can cause a failure in submission. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top to choose Account and Settings.
  2. Tap the Payroll menu on the left panel.
  3. From there, review the setup and make sure the data matches to the ones entered in the HMRC site.
  4. Click Done and Save.

After completing the process, you can now submit the FPS. For future reference, check out the Turn on RTI reporting to HMRC in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll guide.

It outlines the instructions on how to set up your account to use the feature as well as steps to submit the payment.

Reach out to me if you need assistance while working in QBO. I’m more than happy to help and make sure taken care of.
