Hello Vsmusic,
Welcome to the Community page,
There is no way to turn off multi factor authentication just the 2-step verification in QuickBooks if you have a look at this article it tells you more about it. Also if you use a different device all the time it will ask you more to verify the account as well.
I already have the 2 step verification turned off, not that it makes any difference. And I use the same computer every day. Some days I get in without more than two clicks (last week it was much better), other times (this week) it takes minutes to get in with all the layers, and it happens very day.
Am seriously cheesed off with this, to the point I am thinking about dumping quickbooks. I could do everything on a spreadsheet with less hassle, for my kind of business.
Hi vsmusic, it's disappointing to hear that you're considering leaving QuickBooks on the back of this. The security of our customers data is our number one priority which is why we have a number of procedures in place to protect this. Do you already have browser settings set to remember your login information? Depending on browser settings, if you fully close and re-open your browser each time, you may be made to complete verification when logging in again.
I use Chrome, my browser is set to remember my logins etc and Quickbooks is the only one where I have this problem. Occasionally I do have to log in again, but even a simple login without verification involves 3 clicks, it is the most complicated and annoying login I have. And it is entirely random - last week I only had to complete verification once, but this week it is every time. If Amazon can have a box to tick "don't ask for verification when using this computer" why can't Quickbooks? I work from home, can't see someone breaking in just to meddle with my Quickbooks. Unnecessarily complicated.
