I'd like to dig a little bit deeper and help you fix the matching issue in QuickBooks.
If you've received a specific error message while matching a transaction, please let me know by leaving the details below. I'll come up with a solution to help you resolve it.
Also, I'd like to know the name of your bank. That way, I can check to see if there are any connection issues that affected the matching process.
In the meantime, let's do the following steps to resolved the matching issues based on these scenarios.
If there's an error message or if QuickBooks is having an unxpected behavior while matching, then this is likely caused by a cache issue. When a cache data is corrupted or full, it can issues on different webpages.
You can isolate this by using an incognito or private browser:
- Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N.
- Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
- Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
- Safari (new versions): Command + Shift + N
From there, log in to your QuickBooks account then match the transactions. When it works, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. This will remove the cache data that's causing the issue.
Close out any browser processes afterwards to complete the steps.
Another thing you can do is to use another supported browser (useful when you have an issue on the current browser you're using).
Though if QuickBooks simply doesn't automatically suggest a match, you'll want to manually find the matching entry. Here's how:
- On the For review tab, find the transaction you want to match.
- Click the Find match radio button.
- Ensure the filter criteria is set correctly (Show, Search, From and To drop-down menus).
- Review and check the QuickBooks entry you want to match.
- Click Save.
