Hi all,
Got a client, one of their employees doesn't have PAYE on his payslip despite being 21 years old, working full time and having the correct tax code. All of the settings look correct and they are in line with what others have, yet PAYE doesn't show on the pay slip.
Can someone advise?
Thanks
Jamie
Hey JMAmas,
Can I check which version of the payroll are you using as we currently have three in use - Standard, Advanced, and PaySuite.
Does the employee have payment/salary information entered in their settings?
Thanks
Hi Georgia,
It is standard payroll, via QB Online Accountant (what I'm accessing through).
Yes, employee has payment details entered - hourly rate. All settings are set up correctly and the employee has been paid last month previously, and the same happened. Nothing rolled through to the payslip regarding PAYE liability due. Yet, the other employee has no issues and PAYE shows on the payslip as it should do.
In fact, HMRC have even issued a new tax code for said employee which updates his personal allowances, but still no figure on his payslip for PAYE.
Kind regards,
Jamie
Hello Jamie,
Does the employee have any year to date figures entered? What is their tax code?
Thanks,
Talia
No Year to date figures as first job since before 6 April 2019. Tax code S1250L.
Thank you for confirming. Has the employee earned over £1250 since April?
Thanks,
Talia
Yes, employee has earned over £1250 both in Net and Gross since April.
Hello
Thanks for that,What tax calculation method do you have them set to week 1/moht1 or cumulative?Could we ask you to click in to the employee on the payroll and send us a screenshot of their profile from the employment details on wards( for security you can redact their personal details.
Thanks
Emma
Could you please use the attached HMRC calculator to confirm that the employee is due to pay PAYE based on the information you have: here.
Thanks,
Talia
Hi Talia,
Didn't really find that calculator useful to be honest as for both people in the company it returned £0. However, on another calculator which is more detailed, it shows that PAYE is due to be paid monthly, and on another HMRC calculator it also showed the same thing.
We would now advise for you to give us a call - this will enable us to set up a screen share so we can take a look at the employee and troubleshoot fully. You can reach our support line via 0808 234 5337.
Thanks,
Talia
