Hi LoisAThomas Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community. The Core payroll system doesn't create the journal relating to employment allowance, the journal would have to be something that is created manually. We'll certainly submit your feedback to our developers and hopefully they maybe able to implement the journal production feature relating to employment allowance in the future.
When you refer to missing report functionality, are you referring to the gross to net report that isn't available? If so you should be able to obtain the same information by using the payroll summary report.
Um have just got off the line with your Customer support people who tell me the failure of the automatic journalling of EA out of the P&L is a bug that engineering are trying to sort out as we speak
Also, I'm sorry but as a customer of over 25 years using QB in varying evolutions - losing functionality like automatic journalling out of the Ers NIC payment expense from the P&L if you qualify for EA just because QB have changed the Payroll program is not a positive evolution - the standard payroll did this with no issues whatsoever.
Hi LoisAThomas, thanks for getting back to us here
We're sorry for the inconvenience caused by the non-automation of the posting for EA. This is currently working as designed, but we appreciate that it is a pain point for many customers, and it is something that we will look to address in a future update.
Thanks again for reaching Intuit support. I'm just a post away if you require any additional assistance.
OK so does that mean QB are in fact NOT looking at this to fix immediately? I was told QB is doing so now - clearly miscommunication here
Hi LoisAThomas, we're sorry for any misinformation that you have been provided with.
This was raised to our product team who concluded that the behaviour is expected and considered to be as designed, since the setting within the system is set to not include EA in journal entries. Instead, this would need to be addressed as an enhancement feature in the future.
