Payroll FPS submission

Hi

We are moving our payroll to QB Payroll and need to submit the FPS and need to ensure that duplicate records aren't created with HMRC. At present we don't use payroll numbers but can see from QB Payroll these will need to be generated. From reviewing online it looks as though HMRC provide an automated way to change payroll IDs in the FPS. It says if we want to send a new payroll ID, QB Payroll must send 'Yes' in a 'Payroll ID changed indicator' for each employee. Where is this functionality to do this in QB Payroll?

Thanks

Nicola

Payroll FPS submission

Hi Nicola, thanks for joining the Community - there isn't an indicator for this on QuickBooks Standard Payroll, however, you can enter the payroll ID on the 'employment details' tab of the employees profile. When switching payroll providers, we recommend using the same payroll ID - is this something that you're able to request from the previous provider? :)

Payroll FPS submission

Hi Georgia,

We don't use payroll ID's currently, these are submitted as 'none' on the FPS. The .gov website advises to tick the box to state these are the same employees just with different payroll ID's so can you advise how we ensure we meet the HMRC requirements?

Thanks

Nicola

Payroll FPS submission

Hi Nicola, thanks for getting back to us here - there's no option for this on QuickBooks Standard payroll; it's also not possible to run the payroll without a payroll ID for each employee. Are you able to request an ID from HMRC?
