QBO transfer from standard to advanced payroll

Hi

Has anyone successfully transferred their payroll from QBO Standard to QBO Advanced payroll? I've just been talking to an intuit support member who has told me that you loose all the old payroll data and have to start from scratch and set up each employee manually on the new system. I'm really struggling that this is the only way it can be done. Is this correct? Has anyone found a successful way of migrating between the standard and advanced payroll?

Many Thanks

Sandra

Yes you're correct you need to re-enter your prior payroll data once you are subscribed in QBO advanced.

The payroll data will disappear when the transfer is done so it is a good idea to download pay slips and any payroll reports you need prior to putting in the request.

Just call our support team on 08082345337 to request the transfer or reply on this thread. When you put in a request to move from standard to advanced payroll (this is completed by our senior team who will send you a declaration to confirm the process) .

They will advice  to recreate the payroll and re-enter the required data ensuring that it is correct & if required, re-submit it to HMRC. They will also make you aware when  re-entering employee information, you need to keep my employee's Payroll ID the same as it was on my previous payroll software to avoid reporting errors to HMRC.

There is no alternate way to change between payroll packages which would keep the data.

We can import the employees by batch using either XLSX or CSV template.

  1. Select Export Employees, then from the Data type drop-down, choose an Empty Template.
  2. Choose whether you want to work with an XLSX or CSV Template.
