I've just paid my monthly staff on 20th Sept. Completed a FPS to HMRC. What is confusing me that its not showing to submit an EPS. This is my first time using the standard online version as I previously have moved from Paysuite. Am i right in thinking that an EPS wont show on the tax centre until the next tax month ie 6th Oct to pay by 19th Oct??? I know there is liabilities to pay as its showing under "payroll liabilities" under chart of accounts. Can anyone please help me???
Hi Dawn
Have you submitted anything in your payrun that requires you to submit an EPS?
yes. i submitted the fps last week but not the eps. however there is a small amount to pay hmrc. i'm assuming that it will pop up after 6th oct to submitted before 19th Oct????
Hi Dawn
Yes the EPS should be generated after the 6th if there is anything that has been submitted within your payroll that requires one to be submitted.
Hi John
No eps generated after 6th!!!! I'm assuming that EPS declaration is submitted once for the employer allowance to be claimed from hmrc as i've only got NI deductions on the payroll. after looking on the hmrc website it states you only have to submit an eps once unless anything changes ie deducting smp/ssp etc or your circumstances change
when i moved from paysuite to standard online payroll back end of august I had to submit one then.
Its a shame that after numerous hours on the phone to quickbooks no-one could help me, I found this info out for myself. Just feel alittle let down by quickbooks for not advising me. Been a longtime customer of quickbooks since 2005!!!!!!
Hi Dawn
The EPS is only generated if there is something on the payroll that requires one to be submitted.
As you have stated if you are claiming employment allowance, and selected the option within the setting, only one EPS needs to be submitted in relation to this.
The only other time the EPS will be generated/need to be submitted is if you have included items such as statutory payments on your payroll.
