If no JE in core payroll how do you categorise transactions for salary, pension, tax and NI so they are shown in an income and expenditure account. How to set up Mapping?

After running a payroll, it must be noted that it will generate a payroll journal, jplewis. Let me provide you with some useful information about this.

 

A payroll journal is created once you make a payroll. However, we have received similar reports of the journal not being generated. I recommend performing basic browser troubleshooting to rule out any browser-related issues. Browsers can accumulate temporary internet files that may affect your browsing experience and how your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company functions, leading to errors. To open a private window, use the following keyboard shortcuts for the appropriate browsers:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If you continue to experience difficulties, we suggest contacting our support team for assistance. Here's how to reach them:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the upper right corner of your screen, click on Help (?).
  3. Select or type Contact Us.
  4. Start entering your concern, then select Let's Talk.
  5. Please choose a way to connect with us:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

 

On the other hand, to set up the transaction mapping in QBO Payroll, go around with the provided steps:

 

  1. If you're new to QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll, you'll be prompted with a Getting Started Wizard. Click on the Pay Your Employees button.

2. On the next page, you will be asked to enter an account to which you want to assign your payroll liabilities, then click Save.

If you need to do this later or change the previously selected account, follow these:

 

  1. In the Gear icon, hit Accounts and Settings.
  2. Click Payroll on the left menu.
  3. Under the Journal Mapping section, choose the Pencil icon to make your change and Save.
