Work Place Pension Scheme

We are a tiny business (3 of us) none of us are eligible for workplace pension and are marked as such in the payroll system. When I now try to pay a small bonus QB flags up message saying must enroll into Work place pension. I have no idea whether we have been migrated to Core payroll from standard - communication seems a tad thin on the ground -  IAdditionally the bonus is flagged as not being eligible for including n Work place pension calculations - Is this yet another QB glitch or am I missing somethiing

We're going to review the Pension setup for your employees and make sure the Advanced option is configured properly. This will help you pay bonuses to your employees smoothly.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Navigate to the Payroll menu on the left panel and select Employees.
  2. From the list, click on the worker's name to view more details.
  3. Go to the Workplace pension, loan & other deductions section and click the Edit button.
  4. This action will open the Workplace pension, loan & other deductions screen.
  5. Head to the Workers pension section and click the pencil icon for Pension status.
  6. In the Pension scheme window, make sure the status is Not assessed.
  7. Click the Advanced drop-down and tick the radio button for Yes (not common).
  8. Press the Save button to apply the changes.

 

After setting up everything, you can now pay a small bonus to your employees. For detailed instructions, refer to this article: Managing holiday, bonus and other pay types in QuickBooks Online Core Payroll.

 

If you're still getting an error creating the bonus, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team for further assistance. They will assist you in troubleshooting the issue and can provide information about your account and payroll subscription.

Work Place Pension Scheme

I can get as far as step 6 then I get a grey circle with a diagonal bar through it and I cannot edit anything. There is an odd message saying last assessed on 30-11-2024 ?? today is only 5th November and no assessment has been donr a none of us are eligible for WPP

Since you can't continue creating a bonus, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team if you haven't yet. They have the appropriate tools to pull up your account in a secure environment and guide you in resolving this matter. 

Here's how to reach them:
 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company.
  2. Click the Help button.
  3. Tap the Search tab and enter your payroll inquiry.
  4. Hit Contact Us.
  5. Choose a way to connect with an expert.


Our support is available via phone from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 7 PM. For chat assistance, we're accessible Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 10 PM, and on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 8 AM to 6 PM.
