Hi, I need some help. I just logged in to download my tax report from tax year 2020-21. I have seen the file before but for some reason when I click on it now, every field is coming up as zero. When I click on my reports all the data is still there and when I click on the current tax year, it is also showing the correct figures. Why has everything disappeared?
Hello J_ARG95,
Welcome to the Community page,
Did you delete a bank account or anything? can you check in the transactions section do you have any transactions showing up for that tax year or not?
Hi, wondering if you got a solution for your problem.
I have got the same problem and started getting a bit frustrated now.
thanks
Hi nbueno Is this happening just for tax year 2020/21 or any other previous years too and if you run the Tax details report are you able to see any data?
Hi, hi John. 2020/ 21 is the first year I am using quickbooks. So no previous tax years. I have already tried opening it in different browsers including using incognito mode and also in the mobile app and still showing all £0. Also showing £0 if I run the tax details report.
Regarding your reply to my other post I used the mileage tracker for most of my trips and a few were entered manually but nothing is showing in the reports.
thanks
John, the only report I am able to get with some values in it is the Profit and loss repot which shows my income and the actual expenses (like motor expenses, phone, professional fees etc)
Not sure if it was supposed to be showing simplified expenses (mileage)
Thanks for getting back to us nbueno, are all transactions showing as categorised in your transaction list? You can check for any that have not been catgorised by navigating to transactions > set the filter to unreviewed. Does any data populate when you download the tax summary?
Hi Georgia, thank you for getting back. I have checked all the transactions and they are all categorized in the transaction list. And still no data seem to be populate when I download the tax summary.
Thanks for confirming that you already categorized the transactions, @nbueno.
I can share some details why and how your 2020-2021 tax data aren't showing up. Make sure that you’re using the correct self-employment starting date or year so it will capture anything from 2020-2021. You can click the Gear icon on the top right and then select Tax profile to change the start date.
Transactions before your self-employment date will be ignored in your Self-Assessment Tax Summary report. There are chances that the system won't download and show entries before your self-employment date, this is why the data is showing 0. You can reference this article for more details: QuickBooks Self-Employed UK Tax Profile Set-up.
I’m also adding you this guide on how to use QuickBooks Self-Employed reports to fill in your tax return.

i am having the same problem, no figures showing. i have changed bank account for the current tax year. Is this what is causing the problem?
Welcome, and thanks for joining the thread, @james250567. I'm here to help you with your tax summary report and ensure the transactions will show in QuickBooks.
Yes, it's possible that changing your bank account for the current tax year may cause the Self Assessment Tax Summary to come up to £0. That said, I'd highly suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They can restore the transactions so it will not show £0 in your Self Assessment Tax Summary report.
Here's how you can reach them:
For more details on how to get in touch with the support are outlined in this article: How to contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

It was for year 2022/23.
Thank you.
