Adding UTR to invoice

Welcome to Community, Lwhite6.

I can help you add the UTR number to your QuickBooks account.

In QuickBooks, you don't need to put that UTR code you got off HMRC into your account. However, you'll be able to enter it by going to Accounts and Settings if you're using QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings. Then, select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Advanced.
  3. Click construction industry scheme (CIS)
  4. Enter the UTR number.
  5. Once done, click Save and Close.

Please take note that once this feature is turned on it cannot be turned off.

Here are some resources you can read about customizing sales forms and adding custom fields for your future reference:

Keep me posted if you have any other questions or clarifications about adding UTR in QBO. I'll be around to provide further assistance. Take care!

Adding UTR to invoice

Hello, @Lwhite6.

Yes, adding payment notes is the other way around.

I'm here to add details about the custom field in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Adding a custom field and entering UTR within the invoice in QBSE is currently unavailable.

The steps provided by my colleague above is available for QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, you can tag invoices and transactions. Group tags together and run reports to see how specific areas of your business are performing. They have no bearing on your books. Instead, they're a way for you to keep track an important information.

Feel free to read this article: What are tags and why should I use them?

If there is anything else I can do with your invoices, please let me know. Do you need to record or generate additional transactions? Drop your comment, and I'll assist you once more.
