Anyone know how to change the settings to show 'Debit' & 'Credit', not 'Increase' & 'Decrease'? Thanks

Hello there, Howard.

I would love to give the best answer regarding the settings to show Debit and Credit. However, before doing so, I'd like to ask what window will these Increases/decreases show instead of Debit/Credit.

Also, could you please provide a screenshot of the page you've pulled up with this information? It will help me identify and provide a solution to your concern.

The thread will be open for any additional information you can provide. I'll keep an eye out for it. Have a nice day ahead!

Thanks for your prompt update, Howard. I've got the steps to make the debit and credit visible on your accounts on the Chart of accounts (COA).

This task is possible by maximizing the Columns option after you select the Run report for your liability account in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Kindly refer to these steps to proceed:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon and pick Chart of accounts.
  2. Look for the liability account.
  3. Click the dropdown arrow under the Action column and select Run report.
  4. Go to the Columns option and scroll down to the Select columns to add to the report section.
  5. Tick the Checkbox for both Credit and Debit line items. Once selected, the Credit and Debit columns will be available on your account's report.

  6. You may also add or deselect some columns depending on what details you need to appear on your data.
  7. If you want to save the customization, kindly hit the Save As button (optional). Once saved, you may access it through the Custom reports tab of the Reports menu.

You may also generate data that provides a complete view of Debits and Credits for each transaction by pulling up and personalizing the General Ledger report accordingly.

Additionally, to ensure accurate financial information, it's recommended to reconcile your account each time you receive a statement from your bank. Doing so could help you match and compare your financial statement to your records in QuickBooks.

If you have follow-up questions regarding customizing your data or need help around your COA, kindly click the Reply button. I'm always happy to assist.
