I'll share insights about backing up attachments in QuickBooks Online, @ajbwork.
Since QBO is a web application, all the documents and files you've added will be stored online (cloud storage). Also, backing up attachments is only available in QuickBooks Online Advanced, and it's the only version in QBO that can save a backup of your company.
If you're using the QBO Advanced version, you'll need to allow QuickBooks to automatically back up your data online. Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon⚙.
- Select Back up company.
- Sign in to your Intuit account, then click Authorize to proceed.
Then, the attachments will be included whenever you save your backups to your online drive. To see the list of data that you can/can't back up, see this article: Back up and restore your QuickBooks Online Advanced Company.
However, if you're using other version of QuickBooks and want to upgrade to QBOA, you may open this link for details: Upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Online edition.
