Make sure everything is set up on your QuickBooks Online mobile app and on your device. This helps track mileage accurately. Please note that you can only manage the mileage if you're logged in as a user with admin privileges for the company file. 

 

Once signed in, verify if the auto-tracking feature is enabled in the app. Lastly, follow these troubleshooting procedures to ensure to resolve the mileage tracking problem.

 

  1. Check your phone's location settings.
  2. Disable your hotspot while driving.
  3. Review if the app is tracking miles.
  4. Add the QuickBooks mobile app to your permissions lists.
  5. Update the QuickBooks mobile app.
  6. Update your device to its latest version.
  7. Make some changes to your device's settings.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply.

I think a recent update to my phone must have reset some of the settings - it was the battery optimisation that had been turned back on which meant the app had stopped running in the background.

All sorted now and appears to be working normally again!
