Hi there nigel. You can’t permanently delete an account in your Chart of Accounts, but making it inactive works the same way. The account will be removed from the COA and other menus, though any related transactions will still appear in reports.
To make an account inactive:
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Chart of accounts under Your Company.
- Check the box next to the account name.
- In the Batch actions dropdown, select Make inactive.
