Can't add new bank card to pay subscription keeps coming up with error

Can you share with us the error message you're getting? Trouble loading specific pages or getting errors usually happens due to too much accumulated historical data. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster. Not to worry, clearing them will do the trick.

 

First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

 

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

 

After logging in, try adding a new bank card again using the steps below:

 

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Head to the Gear icon, then Account and settings.
  3. Select Billing & Subscription.
  4. Next to your payment method, click Edit.
  5. Update your credit card info.
  6. Review the address for your credit card. It must be the same one that appears on your credit card statements.
  7. When you're done, hit Save.

If there's no issue, I recommend clearing your browser's cache so you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported browser.

Since you’re done performing the steps provided by my colleague above. It’s best to contact our Technical Support team, our support has the tools to determine the leading cause of the inability to add your card in a secure setting. They also have the capability to update your billing information on their end.

 

Here’s how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the Help button.
  3. In the QuickBooks Assistance chat box, select Talk to a human and or tap the Contact Us button at the bottom.
  4. Then, type in your reason for contacting us in the What can we help you with? Box and click Continue.
  5. From there, choose a way to connect with us: Chat with us, get a Callback, or call our support line directly by getting our Phone number.
