Hello SteveSpacagna, It is not possible to move a full file as the programs are totally different, you can export the banking transactions which you can import into the Online product(though you will need to set up the same categories. You can export the reports so you have that information to hand for previous years taxes/

how do i get my existing invoices onto quickbooks online from selfemployed if i cant get the customers on there first?
Thanks for joining us here, @nickburke.
QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and QuickBooks Online (QBO) are two different platforms. Thus, you'll want to enter the transactions manually in QBO.
There are two ways to enter past sales and A/R transactions like invoices. Either chronologically or in batches. Feel free to read through about entering historical information in QBO.
Moreover, if you plan to connect the same bank or credit card account you used in QuickBooks Self-Employed, you don't have to move the transactions. You'll just have to connect the account to QuickBooks Online. This will allow transactions to automatically download in your QBO account.
