The desktop app for windows crashes every time I open a new tab. It repeatedly requests sign in, rejects the first password even when correct but accepts it second time then crashes. I thought this was happening because I was using an older version so just uninstalled it and installed 4.3.0 but same thing happens. the only benefit of using the app was to have several tabs open at once so it's really annoying and wasting time.
Solved! Go to Solution.
That worked this time. It didn't on 4.3.0 but it has on 4.4.0. Thank you!
Hello Sarah M,
Welcome to the Community page,
Can you first clear the apps cache files. Doing this helps in fixing any sort of errors in the system. Here's how to do that:
1. Click the Help menu at the top of the screen.
2. Select the Rest App Data option on the drop-down section.
If you get the same result, uninstall and reinstall the Quickbooks Online app. This is to ensure you get the most recent version of the application.
Hello,
I am experiencing the same issue. Clicking the + for a new tab causes it to close the existing tab and ask for the login credentials again. Upon logging in you can press the new tab + again but this time it throws a "Quickbooks Error Oops! Quickbooks has encountered an error and needs to close. Any unsaved work will be lost. Quit or Relaunch"
I've reset the app data, uninstalled it and reinstalled it with no change to this behaviour.
Can anyone else use multiple tabs successfully in version 4.3.0?
Thanks,
Stewart
It's just updated to 4.4.0 and it's still crashing when trying to open a new tab.
Is anyone else experiencing this behaviour?
Thanks,
Stewart
Hello SEdmunds,
Thanks for posting on this thread,
Have you tried to to clear the apps cache and see if that stops the crashing happening for you.
That worked this time. It didn't on 4.3.0 but it has on 4.4.0. Thank you!
