Does anyone know how to search for an invoice message that was sent to a customer? I include my work order numbers in there and I need to find the relevant invoices.

I have tried using the magnifying glass and the advanced search but there is no option that I can find anywhere that lets you search for a keyword in an invoice message

Hi Daniel, we can utilize the Find feature built into your browser to locate the invoices. Let me guide you through the process.

Currently, using the QuickBooks search bar and advanced transaction search, you can look for details such as the following:

  • Date
  • Type
  • Reference number
  • Contact
  • Due date
  • Balance
  • Amount
  • Memo/Description

While QuickBooks doesn't support direct searching for invoice messages, you can follow these steps as a workaround:

  1. Go to Sales and Get Paid, then select Invoices.
  2. Select all invoices by ticking the checkbox beside the Date column header.
  3. Click the dropdown arrow in the Batch actions button and select Print.
  4. Once the invoices are displayed, use your browser's magnifier or press CTRL + F or Command + F and enter the specific work order number.
  5. Press Enter.

Once done, the system will highlight the term automatically for identification.
