Hi ,i have received my conformation with hmrc and my vat number is correct,im still getting error! can you have a look whats going on please as running out of time

Let me help you sort this out, @paulwoodruff.

 

There are several possible reasons you’re prompted with an error when submitting your VAT returns.

  • It’s possible that you’ve just signed up for MTD and is not yet set up on HMRC. You’ll need to wait for the confirmation email from HMRC confirming that they can file on MTD.
  • You’ve entered incorrect login details. Ensure the same login credentials are being used for the connection setup through QBO.
  • Your MTD connection was set up by your accountant. Just enter your own MTD details so you can proceed with the process.
  • If you’re the one who set up the MTD connection, let your accountant connect with your account so they can submit it on your behalf.
  • Also, let’s make sure to enable yourself to file for your company on HMRC’s side.
  • Lastly, your VAT registration number should exactly match in QuickBooks and HMRC.

 

To resolve the error, here's how:

  1. Click the Learn More button. 
  2. Choose the Agent Services Account link.
  3. Follow the on-screen instruction to complete the process.
