Hello there, stuart-workhomeo.
The accuracy of the mileage tracking varies according to the satellite signal.
If you want to use the auto-tracking feature to ensure that trips are recorded accordingly, you can check these links:

Hi,
I'm not using the auto tracking, im manually entering the starting and finishing points.
When I enter these into Google maps the millage is different by 5 miles?
Allow me to chime in, stuart-workhomeo.
I'll explain why QuickBooks and Google Maps calculate mileage differently.
QuickBooks Online accurately tracks mileage and complies with mileage tracking regulations. Tracking mileage within the program provides you with the information you need to complete your taxes, either automatically or manually.
On the other hand, you can also use Google Maps to track your mileage. However, it doesn't have a built-in mileage tracker app. With this, it only provides you with estimates for the places you've been and routes you've taken based on your location history. If you want to track your mileage using Google Maps, you can integrate it with a mileage tracker app that will provide you with accurate data.
For future reference, you can read this article if you want to reimburse mileage and vehicle expenses in QuickBooks Online: Reimburse employees' mileage and vehicle expenses in QuickBooks Online.

Hi thanks for the response,
To clarify, I'm entering past journeys (so these are NOT tracked.
Quickbook has the journey as 15.87m and Google maps 22m
Which is big difference for a short journey.
I will record the milage next time I do the trip.
