Hello there, @billing117.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I’m happy to clarify how QuickBooks Online (QBO) works with GoCardless and how you can use it alongside Tekton.
In QBO, GoCardless auto-collection is triggered only when an invoice is sent from QuickBooks. If invoices are imported into QBO but not sent, they won’t create the payment instruction GoCardless needs, even though they appear in your company file. And because Tekton doesn’t integrate with GoCardless, GoCardless can’t act on invoices that exist only in Tekton or are imported to QBO without being sent.
To enable automatic collection, import your Tekton invoices into QBO, then send those invoices from QBO to your customers. Sending creates the GoCardless payment link and connects the invoice to the customer’s mandate so collection runs on the due date. After GoCardless processes the payment and QBO records it, you can reconcile the payout in QBO and mark the matching invoices as paid in Tekton to keep both systems aligned.
This approach keeps Tekton as your invoicing tool while QBO handles payment automation through its direct GoCardless integration.
If you have any questions about the setup, feel free to let us know and we’ll help you get everything running smoothly.
