I have the simple version of QB. I need to add disbursements to a client's invoice where I have posted services. do I need to upgrade ?

I have the simple version of QB. I need to add disbursements to a client's invoice where I have posted services. do I need to upgrade ?

If you are wanting to pass on the cost of the service onto a clients invoice there is the option of billable expenses which is available in the Plus package.

This gives the option of the creating the expense and it will have a section on an expense to enter customers name and tick billable,(once on that package, go the cog>account and settings>expenses>bills and expenses>make expenses and items billable)once that is done there will be in customers an option to create an invoice(it will show as a billable expense and give you the option to create an invoice from it)the customer as as and then you can add in additional lines to the invoice for any other services you are invoicing the customer for.

 

If you do not wish to upgrade it would be a case of either recording them as separate transactions(increasing the invoice amount and creating a separate expense)

 

Or creating a service in the product and services and when it comes to the income account for the service select an expense account. Then on the invoice add an additional line and select that service.

 

Other users are welcome to add to this Community thread with any other ways they record this in a non Plus package.
