Hello all
I am having big issues installing Premier Accountant Edition 2021 onto my Windows PC - the application just doesn't start upon installation. Indeed the "start quickbooks" button is greyed out at the end of the install process. I restart the system and double-click on the desktop icon and nothing happens.
I installed it successfully back in September when I upgraded to 2021, but a few days ago, I tried to install a fresh copy (downloaded from the QB website) onto a clean PC and it just won't start. I tried again on two separate PCs, one running Windows 10 and the other Windows Server 2019 and none worked. I am therefore sure it's not to do with my systems or PCs but instead something with the installation file.
Anyone having the same issues?

Welcome to the Community page,
So you might have to perform a clean install of the program, as it could have been damaged there for not working for you. If you have a look at this link here it tells you all the steps you need to take to do the clean install. Also you might have to choose Custom and Network Option instead of express during the install setup, as it could be that you are choosing express and the quickbooks is installed as option 3 so there's no actual application being installed, just the database server manager.

Unfortunately I have tried all those options.
Firstly, all three initial attempts were not only clean (first time) QB installs, they were on clean (Windows) machines.
Between failed attempts, I uninstalled QB and ran a thorough clean-up using a proper uninstall programme and "remnant" delete - which removes all trace of QB installs.
My initial plan was to install the server + local option (2) but when it failed I just tried the local option (1) to keep it simple. Nothing worked.
The thing is I have been using Quickbooks for over 20 years and have never had a problem installing it.
Something must have happened to the compatibility of Quickbooks 2021 R4 between September (when it worked for me - and then it was on my existing laptop so not a clean install) and now when I have tried six times on three different clean machines....
Wondering if this is happening to anyone else?
