Quickbooks and Outlook freezing when sending invoices / purchase orders etc

Hi everyone,

Im having an issue with my QBs for the last few weeks (seems to be since i updated Outlook) that when we go to send an invoice or purchase order, outlook freezes and then QBs freezes and we need to end both tasks and restart to get going again - the email does send though.

Very frustrating and time-consuming, I see there have been a lot of ppl having similar issues - is there a fix done yet for this??

Hi there, @MOS1.

There are some possible causes why your QuickBooks Desktop stops working or freezing. And I'd like to share them with you and help you get this fix so you can get to working order.

Here are several possible causes for this issue, such as:

  • Damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file.
  • Corruption on your hard drive.
  • Damaged program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation.
  • Damaged Windows operating system.

To resolve this, let's run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool (QBInstall Tool). This will help us identify any component issues related to your QuickBooks Desktop.

  1. Download the QuickBooks Install DiagnosticTool.
  2. When prompted, save the file to the local Desktop.
  3. Close any open programs and run the QBInstall Tool.
  4. Restart the computer after running the tool to ensure the components are properly updated.

If the problem persists, you'll need to try other solutions provided in this article: What to do if you can't open QuickBooks Desktop.

If the troubleshooting steps don't work, I recommend contacting our Phone Support Team. This way, they can investigate this matter further and create an investigation ticket if other users experiencing the same.

Please let me know how it goes in the comment section below. I'm only a post away if you have any follow-up questions. Wishing you all the best.
