I'm in South Africa and it seems as if BizTechnlologies (SA Agent) no longer has a contract to sell desktop QB. I have an idea that this is because Intuit UK is not longer allowed to sell the desktop version due to some form of legal restriction and desktop not conforming to whatever. I wanted to update my QB 2016 to QB 2019.
Now QB desktop 2019 is going to go out of support soon anyway?
I've just subscribed to Quick Books Online. I see that I cannot create assembly items on QBO, only bundles.
As a manufacturer, I need to build items I sell from bulk and this is not possible in QBO.
It seems as if I am stuck with QB desktop 2016, but I was also told by the UK Intuit specialist that I contacted that I could buy an inventory plug-in that would enable me to build my assembly items and also incorporate this with QB online.
Is their a plug-in that anyone can recommend - I'd really like something that will be able to help me create a price level for my wholesale clients as well. Can anyone help?
Does anyone else have this problem and what plug-in do you use, if you use one?

I appreciate your response, KingFelmet.
Yes, you're right. We've decided to discontinue QuickBooks Desktop for our UK customers. Since we'll no longer be supporting it on June 30, 2023, we suggest using the QuickBooks Online plan subscription since it'll expire after your plan. And it's good to know you're using the online version already.
Creating assemblies in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is unavailable. Still, I recommend using a third-party application to make this possible. I see that you need to know what particular application to use. However, we're unable to recommend a specific one since you'll be using a connecter outside our platform. We can only guide you on where to find an application for adding assembly items. From there, you can decide what's best for your business.
Also, you can post your concerns here in QuickBooks Community regardless of your region. Just make to post your concern under the UK flag if it is for the UK and under the South Africa flag if it is for SA. This helps us provide correct information intended for your country.

Hello Kingfelmet, Thanks for posting on the Community page, so in QuickBooks online it is bundles which is like are assemblies on Desktop version. You can leave feedback in online version about this being not as good as the desktop version if you click on the main cog wheel>feedback this gets sent straight to the developers. We are unable to advise on 3rd party applications you can have a look at this link for that or have a look in the app store section within your QuickBooks Online account to see which will best suit you and your needs. . Your 2016 will expire just like the 2019 version that you want to get.
Yes, I know that my 2016 version will go out of support just like the 2019 version. I hope that it will not expire as you stated!? I paid for it after all? Will it simply cease to exist at a certain date?!?! Surely not!
You have now made me worry about that as well! Oh dear!
I also know that South Africa follows the same general accounting principles as the UK, and it worries me greatly that Intuit UK is not allowed to sell desktop versions anymore as it doesn't conform to their general principles of accounting. This seems to be a grave problem for Intuit.
I was under the impression of two things:

We can still help get a new one-time license for QBD 2019 UK version from Intuit. But you should wait after June 2023 to make sure their activation code is still valid.
Another option, if you run a manufacturing company, you can explore this app to integrate with QBO.
