Does Quickbooks issue Release Notes on updates made to QBO?
We have noticed lately changes in features. Some features have been removed.
Hello Mcooney, thanks for posting on the Community page, You can have a look at this link Product Updates & Innovations | QuickBooks UK it has more information on there for you.
Hi Ashleigh, I had a look but the articles related to Quickbook Advanced.
https://quickbooks.intuit.com/uk/product-updates/ relates to July 2022. We have had a changes made in the last few days; features missing, some new features. It would be helpful it there was release notes available (as there was in QBDT) rather than us fishing around in the dark.
Hi there, MCooney.
I understand that updates are necessary to ensure the smooth operation of your accounting software and to stay current with the latest advancements. Allow me to explain the difference in how updates are rolled out between QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
QuickBooks Desktop releases updates as periodic software upgrades that encompass new features, bug fixes, and improvements. However, these updates need manual installation on your computer, which may take some time.
On the other hand, QuickBooks Online uses a cloud-based approach, delivering updates in real time to all users without any manual effort. As soon as new features or improvements are ready, they are instantly available to you without the need for downloading or installing anything. The software updates happen automatically in the background.
If you want to know more about QuickBooks Online Advanced, you can check out this article: Everything you need to know about QuickBooks Online Advanced.
Please let me know if you have any further concerns or questions about QuickBooks. I'd be delighted to assist. Take care!
It's ridiculous that you point to a page which hasn't been updated in over a year. Intuit should have this page bang up to date so that us, the CUSTOMERS can plan and know what's coming down the line. Impending new menu is just a prime example of how, yet again, people will be looking for pages they've probably only just got used to have the last mess of a change.
Honestly Intuit is just falling into one mess after another with all this. How you are treating the UK users is nothing more than with contempt.
I guess you could call that mansplaining.
I am over 5 and do understand the difference between desktop and cloud. It does not explain why QBO do not give release notes to outline the changes they have made to features.
In product development, QBO should be transparent with their customers and detail changes, new features, changes in functionality to their software. I fail to see why they cannot do this.
No @MCooney - that's botsplaining!
As a rule, if the reply starts with "I understand that XYZ..." you can be pretty sure that no actual understanding has taken place.
Weirdly, the Aussies & USA-ians do get an explanation of updates
- https://quickbooks.intuit.com/au/blog/product-update/
- https://www.firmofthefuture.com/whats-new/
but I guess it must be too much trouble for Intuit to translate these into English for their valued UK customers ;)
Hello All, the link that was provided, is not just for advanced it mentions advanced, Pro tax, Workpapers, Reports and a couple of enhancements. We appreciate that it doesn’t tell you what has been changed or removed with each update, we have relayed this back to the relevant team to see if they can get this added onto the link.
I'm defiantly over 5 and I’m definitely are a master of mansplaining, so I am told :)
I like botsplaning though Paul, I think I'll be pinching that :p
@Ashleigh1 Well well well, look at that a easily read page full of explanation and good information about changes.
Re my previous comment about contempt. I still not sure why you are pushing the Advanced version when there are still so many holes in the product.
@Ashleigh1So it appears that a small fix has been applied, and I've picked up on another couple of small changes. Is there any news on a change log for us UK users. Sort of grates when you see the level of support the USA section of the site gets with blogs and up and coming changes. The devs can't just expect us to find these changes for ourselves you know. It's not much to ask for and to be fair it should be at the forefront of Intuit's marketing on how active they are in addressing issues.
Unless marketing doesn't have a clue what the left arm is doing while controlling the right arm?
Hello Mark, thanks for all that information, we have fed this back to the relevant team and have asked if they could add this to the site with any up-and-coming changes that will be happening in QuickBooks so that our customers can view them.
