Can someone from the QBSE staff please acknowledge and respond to my requests made 4 weeks ago, 3 weeks ago, 2 weeks ago and again last week in this thread:
Please request from your management that they provide an official update to your UK customers about the future of QBSE and MTD as soon as possible.
Please respond to this message to confirm that this request has been passed on and with an estimation of when UK customers can expect an official update and clarity about this issue.
Thank you.

JSSE.
Hello JSSE
Thanks for getting in touch, and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
Some customers on the QuickBooks Self Employed product may have recently heard from HMRC about Making Tax Digital (MTD), and the changes to how Income Tax returns will be filed from 6 April 2026.
We know messages like this can cause concern, so we wanted to help clarify what it means, and how we can support impacted customers moving forward.
These MTD changes only apply to sole traders and landlords who earned over £50,000 in the 2024–2025 tax year. If you’ve received a letter from HMRC, or think this might apply to you, you’re not alone and we’re here to help.
Please get in touch if you're currently using QuickBooks Self Employed and believe these changes to Income Tax returns affect you. We’ll talk through your circumstances and make sure you’re using the right QuickBooks product for your business, with no guesswork on your side.
We’ve been working closely with HMRC, and all of our QuickBooks Online products are MTD compliant and ready for the April 2026 deadline.

Thank you mlukashov,
But you have not answered my question or responded to my request which is specifically about the future of QBSE in relation to MTD (not about other QuickBooks Online products).
My request again:
Please request from your management that they provide an official update to your UK customers about the future of QBSE and MTD as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Regards,
JSSE.
Hi JSSE
Thank you for coming back to us.
We want to reassure you that the information we’ve shared reflects our current position on MTD. All QuickBooks Online products are MTD-compliant and we’re continuing to work closely with HMRC as the April 2026 deadline approaches.
The best way we can support you if you still have concerns is by contacting us, where one of our experts can confirm exactly how MTD may affect you and make sure you’re on the right QuickBooks product, with clear next steps tailored to your situation.
Please sign in to your QuickBooks account, select the Help (?) icon, scroll to Contact Us, and follow the prompts to connect directly with our team. We’ll be happy to walk through MTD with you.
Thank you for responding - But again you have not answered my question or responded to my request which is specifically about the future of QBSE in relation to MTD.
I am not asking about other QuickBooks Online products - ONLY QBSE.
My request again:
Please request from your management that they provide an official update to your UK customers about the future of QBSE and MTD as soon as possible.
At this point I am not requesting information or advice about any other QB products - please respond specifically about future plans regarding QBSE and MTD.
Thank you.
Regards,
JSSE.
Hi JSSE
Thank you for responding.
Because MTD for Income Tax depends on individual circumstances, for example income level or, business type providing a more general statement could cause unnecessary concerns for those not impacted.
We have attempted to reach out to you directly by email as we appreciate you are looking for a direct response. Please respond to our email so we may support you further, or sign in to your QuickBooks account, select the Help (?) icon, scroll to Contact Us, and follow the prompts to connect directly with our team. We’ll be happy to walk through this with you.
Many Thanks
Max
Hello Max,
Thank you for your reply.
However, you are missing the point of my enquiry and my request.
Individual users will be capable of working out whether MTD will apply to them in 2026 or 2027 depending on their income - my request is not about individual users income - my request is specifically about your product QBSE.
My request is to please provide an official update to your UK customers about the future of QBSE and MTD as soon as possible.
Will QBSE become compatible with MTD for UK users of QBSE (for those whom it will become a requirement) in time for the next tax year in April 2026?
Thank you.
Regards,
JSSE.
Another 2 weeks passed with no response from QB support.
It has now been over 2 months since asking for clarity about this - please someone from QBSE respond to this simple request about your QBSE product.
Please stop ignoring my request and please stop providing unrelated and unhelpful information.
I am not asking about other Quick Books products or for tax advice - just simply asking for clarity from your company about the future support of your QBSE product for UK customers in relation to upcoming HMRC requirements relating to Making Tax Digital.
Please provide an official update to your UK customers about the future of QBSE and MTD as soon as possible.
Will QBSE become compatible with MTD for UK users of QBSE (for those whom it will become a requirement) in time for the next tax year in April 2026?
Thank you.
Regards,
JSSE.
