Hello everyone,
I cannot use 'search' on QBO uk. I receive this message 'There’s usually something here. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page'. I have had this for a few days now.
Please advise what I should do to correct this tedious problem.
Thanks.

Yessss! Looks like it may be fixed :)
I was also having trouble with the log in screen not recognising my correct details. All seems fine now.
Huge thanks John C.
Thanks for letting me know about the problem you're facing, AB111.
The error message when utilizing the Search function is likely caused by local internet cache files stored up in the system that needs clearing. Let's perform a few browser troubleshooting solutions to isolate the issue.
You can start by accessing QBO using a private window. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
Now, try searching for a specific contact or transaction. If the message prompt doesn't show up, clear cache to fix the unexpected behavior in the product. Here’s an article to help with the process: Delete browser cache and temporary Internet files.
However, if you continue to get the same result, I recommend switching to a different browser like Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Safari. The one you are currently on maybe having a temporary issue with QuickBooks, and using a new browser in the meantime will allow you to get back to work.
I recommend checking out this article for more information: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and Self-Employed.

Hello KhimG,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately opening in a private window and clearing the cache hasn’t cured the problem.
I still cannot use the search function.
I don’t want to use another browser, I don’t feel I should have to. QBO is one of the biggest market leaders in accounting software and Chrome (which I’m using) is the leading browser, there should be no issue with compatibility.
There must be a bug in QBO surely?
This has only been an issue in the last few days, until then it was working properly.
Hello AB111,
Could you please post a screenshot of the error you are receiving?
Thanks,
Talia
I am unable to do a screenshot, but a dialogue box appears containing a strange looking picture with a sad face and the following message as detailed in the original post.
'There’s usually something here. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page'
Hi AB111
Can you attempt the following steps:
Select the settings tab/three dots on top of each other within your browser > settings >advanced right at the bottom of the screen > Restore settings to their original defaults, within the Reset and clean up at the bottom of the page > reset settings.
Yessss! Looks like it may be fixed :)
I was also having trouble with the log in screen not recognising my correct details. All seems fine now.
Huge thanks John C.
