Showing error on MTD I am not able to submit Please help

I'll share some insights on how to get around this issue you can submit your returns, @Inno Group Ltd.

To begin with, you'll want to make sure your books are not closed in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you'll be able to submit your returns.

Also, if the FRS is turned on, you'll need to turn it off before uploading the CSV file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu and select VAT
  2. Select Edit VAT.
  3. Under the Other tax options section, untick the FRS box and click Save.

You can also check out this article for more details and additional troubleshooting steps: How to fix MTD issues and errors in QuickBooks Online.

Once you're all set, you might want to utilize this resource that can guide you in seamlessly filing your returns in QBO: Submit a VAT return in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around if you need more help filing your returns in QBO. Simply add them in your response and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Have a good one!

I'm here to help you submit your taxes, henden-events.

What error did you receive when you tried to submit your VAT return via MTD? This way, I can help you further on the right steps in getting rid of it. After we've signed up MTD on the HRMC website, we'll also need to enable it within QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings
  2. Click the Advanced menu.
  3. Select Making Tax Digital and then click Learn how to connect
  4. Click Let's go
  5. Another window will open for us to authorise QuickBooks to interact with HMRC. Click Continue.
  6. Enter the HMRC log in credentials
  7. Once logged in, click on Grant authority
  8. From the You're connected to HMRC message, select Continue
  9. Click Take a look once process has been completed.

MTD is now enabled on the Taxes page which we can now submit a VAT return via MTD

If you're still unable to submit after turning on MTD, it can be that a browser-related issue is causing the errors. Stored cache files sometime causes QuickBooks unexpected behavior. We can remove those files to fix the issue.

  1. Let's access QBO and submit VAT through private browser since it doesn't store any history or cache files.
  2. If you were able to submit it without any errors, we can remove the cache files stored in your regularly used browser.
  3. Other ways to get away with unusual behaviors is switching to other browsers such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox.

Keep me posted on how this works. I'll keep an eye on it!

Hello Henden-events,

Welcome to the Community page,

when you try and submit the return do you get a take action on the taxes page top right?

If you do when you click into the take action what is it saying?

I have followed the advice, and am already connected...
Do I disconnect and reconnect to HMRC?

I have also tried from another cleared browser with no luck.
Why would we receive the Error: taxReturnInvalidMTDEndDate  ?
