TROJAN alert from Intuit.QBDT.Webconnector.Application.exe

See below for details of a Trojan alert I received - anybody else had this ???

 

  • Is there a problem with the program Intuit.QBDT.Webconnector.Application.exe ?
  • Why is it trying to access domain cs9.wac.phicdn.net ?
  • How was it even activated ?   I was not using Quickbooks at the time the Trojan alert occurred !   (I was working on an unrelated spreadsheet)

 

Please note that I run both QuickBooks UK Pro 2020 and QuickBooks US Pro Plus 2021 on my PC – as I was not using either program when the alert was generated, I have no idea in which Quickbooks installation the error originates.

We’ll have to download the Web Connector installer from directly Intuit. Then, set your Windows firewall and security settings for QuickBooks Desktop. The process can help move past the error.


To download:

 

  1. Click here to get the installer.
  2. This opens a window where you can download the link.
  3. Right-click the installer download and select Extract All.
  4. In the extracted folder, right-click the .exe file and choose Run as Administrator.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

 

QuickBooks uses executable files (.exe) to perform various tasks. We'll have to configure your firewall settings and add an exception for QuickBooks programs.
