Unable to remove 'Inactive account and transactions' from my P&L report. please can someone help?

Hello

I have spent 4 days now trying to fix this.

I am new to quickbooks online and I have the majority of my sales on csv from Etsy.

Uploading these became a issue as I realised I needed to remap especially for QB to list, I did this (it took hours and hours) the first time but realised fees accidentally mapped as INCOME in account I labelled ETSY.

This meant that almost a years worth of csv's were incorrect. I inactivated this account and painstakingly remapped a years worth of csvs (for last years accounts 18-19) and all seemed well until I tried to check my P&L report.

My P&L still calculates a years worth of incorrect income on a inactive account now. I have read every thread and forum and contacted QB but still not getting anywhere. Please can someone help, I just need to delete the whole of this incorrect account that is marked as inactive please??

Hello there, @haleysx.

Thanks for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community. Let me help share some information about removing deleted account from Profit & Loss report.

I'd like to acknowledge your effort in sharing very detailed information about your concern. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), inactivate accounts can appear on your financial reports. This happens if reports pull data of the transactions posted on the account while it was still active.

Now, if you'd like to temporarily remove the deleted accounts from reports, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open your Profit & Loss report, then select Customize at the top left.
  2. Scroll down to Rows/Columns, then set Show non-zero or active only rows to non-zeroCapture.PNG
  3. Select Run Report.

To completely remove deleted accounts from reports, you must undelete the account first, then merge, move, or delete it. To do this, you can follow the detailed steps in this article: Remove deleted accounts from reports

This should get you on the right track. Fill me in if you have any other questions about about removing deleted accounts. I'll be around to help. Have a good one.
