why is quickbooks convoluted

So it started with third party apps none will pull my UK ebay data into quickbooks from past months. i tried 4 and they all wouldnt do it. 2 of which the app developers told me that the uk ebay stuff is different to USA and europe so its harder for them to get it working and have had little to no interest to get it working. this has been going on for 3 weeks! ive resorted to manual import then use 1 app to do it from now on. i had to import all my ebay sales orders into quickbooks via csv myself was it a simple download and upload? NOOOOOOO! you have to change the column names and only put in the columns quickbooks will allow.  then there was the date problem e.g. 10 jun 2025 it doesnt accept those dates no options for DD/MMM/YYYY in your options WHY???  Quickbooks even with being around for many years now they are not aligned with the major platforms at all!! they rely on you using 3rd party apps and if those dont work they are like sorry we have limited information we cant help you! and what they can help with is tell you where the import section is and here is the sample csv use that. none of your columns remotely match any on ebay!  i find it absolutely disgusting that you are not aligned with ebay amazon and shopify, maybe also woocommerce too. you should at least be aligned with them. I tried to upload my csv direct from ebay and the map columns were all blank so you cant even just select them because they dont show whats on your csv. You have to start a brand new spreadsheet with the colums quickbooks will provide on their sample then put in the data yourself lots of copy and pasting and editing for dates. also ebay uses order numbers like this XX-XXXXX-XXXXX and EVEN IF you name the column to what quickbooks says "sales Receipt No" its trying to say its a chuffing DATE!!!!! why is the system even doing that?? I named the column correctly yet your system is like oh this is a date but its not right ITS NOT!!!!!! You should treat it as "sales Receipt No" which is exactly what it is!! but noooooo your system has to pull a fit and do what it wants!! After that i got into stock control i want to link my sales to my stocked items and also when i buy stock its different prices each time the only way to deal with that is add a new product each time with its quantity. your system doesnt support quantities with different prices per unit. and yes i know you use FIFO but its stupid having to make another stock product every time i buy a new batch!!  Even if i do that make separate items i still cant match them with sales. What i would expect is i go into a sale tell it what items sold in that sale and it should automatically adjust my stock accordingly but NOOOOOO you cant do that its too  simple! that would be too easy for us!  so im basically paying for plus plan for stock control and i cant even do that properly because you dont support it!! its absolutely disgusting!! This is basic stuff people sell on marketplaces or websites you should have the facilities to record this data in a simple clear manner but you dont its all convoluted and you have to do things in stupid ways or not at all!

I understand how you feel about getting your transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @totalisetrading.

The process would indeed involve importing transactions manually and preparing the CSV file from the eBay platform by the columns QBO requires.

To better address your concern, are you using eBay Connector by Intuit? If so, you can try performing the troubleshooting guidance in this article: Troubleshoot eBay issues with OneSaas in QuickBooks Online.

Also, I recommend reaching back to our Intuit developers for them to integrate applications with Intuit's products, extend functionality, and automate tasks for businesses.

I appreciate your efforts in this matter, I highly recommend sharing your feedback with our product development team, as connecting to QBO by service is currently unavailable.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon located at the top-right corner of your screen.
  2. Under the Profile section, select Feedback.
  3. Type in your suggestions and then click on Next.

Also, you can  use these articles for more details on how to categorise transactions and use bank rules to automatically:

Please let us know if you have more concerns about connecting to QBO.
