I am trying to delete old current assest accounts from the chart of accounts as we haven't used them in years and they have a balance of zero. They are never going to be used again. When I try I get an error message saying "This account cannot be deleted because there are unbilled charges for this account" Can anyone help as to how to delete the account/what it means when it says there are unbilled charges for this account?

Hello Amy6,
Thanks for reaching back out to us
Also, thank you for the screenshot,
You will need to go through them and check the transactions manually,
So what you will need to do is identify the transactions with billable charges and then you can either make them not billable if you get the option too or check the account they are posting to and change it so you can use the tool to close them down.
Hello Amy6,
Welcome to the Community page,
That message means that you have some unbilled charges that are linked to that account.
You will need to close them off before you will be able to delete that account.
If you go to the reports section, in the search bar, and type this in unbilled charges report, it should bring up that report that will tell you what the unbilled charges are, so you can close them off then go back to the chart of accounts and delete the account.
Thank you. I have tried to delete them and some have them have deleted but when I try delete some of them I get this message "You have either selected a tax liability account on a transaction where it’s not allowed, or haven’t specified a tax rate along with it" and they won't delete? Can you help with this?
Glad to hear you have managed to delete some of them you didn't want anymore.
For the ones still having an issue trying to delete them, could you send us a screenshot of theses ones you're trying to delete and getting that message on so we can have a visual of it please.
