Expense figures different, in different areas of quickbooks

When looking at my total expenses on the home page this shows as a different figure to the expenses in my tax summary. The figure on the home page is higher. 

I can't seem to work out how this is different. Can anyone explain?

Thanks for being part of the QuickBooks family. I’m here to clarify why the total of the expense amount on the Home page is not similar to the one on your Tax Summary Report.


The figures shown on the Home page are all transactions categorized as expenses.

Meanwhile, the Tax Summary Report records all expenses including mileage and deductions.
