Hello there, @caroline-armstro. Thank you for posting here.
You can customize a daily basis in total and make this your own customised report for your business. You can go to Reports on the left panel and search Profit and Loss in the search field.
Once done, continue following the steps below to accomplish the task:
QuickBooks will download reports to Excel (or PDF). Select or Export as Excel or Export as PDF. Here's a sample screenshot for additional reference:
Another way is by going to the Sales tab. From there, you can view and print your daily income on money received (cash basis).
Still, it'll be exported to Excel. Also, you'll see the total at the very bottom of the screen below the Total column.

QBO doesn't give us the options to track meaningful metrics and chart them in dashboards, so we are forced to export data by email/download (or google sheets, manually) and create those metrics and charts in excel or google sheets.
So to piggyback on this original request, it would be better if:
- you could export certain custom or standard reports to google sheets on a planned/scheduled basis (you can currently take an individual report and manually export it to google sheets, but nothing automated)
- currently, the only way to do this is to make QBO email a custom report group in excel format, then take those emailed attachments and import them into google sheets
Your suggestions are brilliant, @cbanks.
