You can customise your Transaction Detail by Account report to show your running balances in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll outline the steps to resolve this.
- Log in to your QBO account.
- Go to the Reports and click Standard reports.
- Type in the Transaction Detail by Account and choose Customise.
- Under the Columns select Balance.
- Filter the preferred Report period, then click Refresh to show.
On the other hand, you can also use the General Ledger report to show the beginning balance, transaction activity, and the ending balances for every account.
Here's how:
- Go to the Reports and type in General Ledger.
- In the Ellipses icon, click Switch to classic view.
- Filter the preferred Report period and select Customise.
- Under Rows/Columns, click Change columns.
- Choose Account and Opening Balance.
- Once done, click Run report.
