When you turn on the VAT in QuickBooks Online, the program automatically creates the common codes, 9826. That includes the reverse charge.
Here's how:
- Go to the Taxes menu and then select the VAT tab.
- Click on Set up VAT and then fill in the necessary fields.
- Then, choose the Edit VAT drop-down arrow, then select Edit rates.
- Click the radio button to turn the code on.
If you're unable to see the reverse charge, I suggest including the inactive ones. You can do this by clicking on the Gear icon and then place a checkmark in the Include inactive checkbox.

Additionally, from April 2019, all eligible UK VAT-registered businesses will have to keep their financial records in a digital form and submit their VAT returns using approved software. To learn more details, I encourage you to browse this article: Submit a VAT Return in QuickBooks Online.
