Hello Keith-alexander-, thanks for posting on the Quickbooks Community page, the only way autogenerated journal entries happen can be a few things, recurring transactions are likely the cause, and the only way a journal can be automatically made, there are others such as vat, which only posts to control and suspense accounts and also when you run payroll it automatically creates a journal entry for you and lastly I suppose also any adjustment journals. Those are the main ones to answer your question.
