Down load last years' invoices to excel including net, VAT and gross amounts

Hello there, Leets.

You can run a Transaction Detail by Tax Code report in QuickBooks Online to show the list of your last year's sales invoices displaying the Net amount, VAT amount, and Gross amount column. You can export it to Excel and I'm here to guide you.

Here's how:

  1. On the left menu, go to Reports and search for Transaction Detail by Tax Code.
  2. Click the Customise button.
  3. Open the Filter section and select Invoice and Expense (Choose as many as you prefer) as the Transaction Type.

  4. Click Run Report.
  5. Click the Gear icon on the top-right of the report preview page and click Show more.
  6. Select only the following columns to display:
    1. VAT Amount
    2. Net Amount
    3. Gross Total
  7. Click the Share button beside the Gear icon and select Export to Excel.

In the 6th step, you can select any columns you prefer to show other than those listed above.

After customising the report, you can consider memorising it to save and access it easily in the future.

Down load last years' invoices to excel including net, VAT and gross amounts

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your detailed reply - it sure is a complicated work around instead of clicking one button!

However, I have stalled at pont 3: this is all I see - nothing about choosing to filter to just invoice - am I in the wrong place?

best regards,

Lita

Hi Lita, thanks for getting back to us here with that screenshot

That is the correct place, though the options you see here can depend on the subscription type. So that we can provide you with more accurate information, please confirm the level of QuickBooks Online you're using: Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, or Advanced. Thank you!

Down load last years' invoices to excel including net, VAT and gross amounts

Hi,

I am on Esserntials.  I have downloaded the whole thing and spent quite a while filtering and deleting and got there in the end!

Is there a chance in the future that we can just download the invoice list to Excel or pdf as easily as we can for expenses and all reports?

best regards,

Lita
