You've come to the right place, @john174.

You can rename the budget title by following these easy steps.

  1. Go to Gear, then Budgeting.
  2. Look for the budget title you want to rename, then click the Edit link under Action.
  3. Change the Name field.
  4. Hit Save.

With these steps, you'll be able to edit the title of your budget vs. actuals report. You can learn more about budgets at this link here: Create budgets in QuickBooks Online.

I've also added our page about reports and accounting that I'm sure you'll find helpful. It has articles and steps related to reports.

Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have questions or concerns. I'll be around to assist you. Thanks for posting and have a great week ahead.

Hi Sheilla.  Thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately it does not relate to the question I asked.  QuickBooks Online has a new feature called ‘Edit Titles’ in Reports which is available on a number of the standard reports such as Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.  It enables you to change the default titles in reports, e.g. you can amend ‘Income’ to ‘Operating Income’ or ‘Expenses’ to ‘Operating Expenses’.  This is a useful feature as it enables you to make the line titles in the standard reports more pertinent to the type of business you are operating.  Unfortunately this new feature is not yet available on the standard Budget vs Actuals Report.  My original question was to ask if the feature would be available on the Budget vs Actuals Report any time soon as this is a report we use regularly.  Thanks.

Hello John174,

Welcome to the Community page,

The new feature edit titles in the reports section has only been rolled out on a few of the reports as you have spotted it may be rolled out onto other reports but at a later date.

Thanks for letting me know Ashleigh.  I will continue to look out for it appearing on the Budget vs Actual report.
