Hi Chris
Thanks for doing that. Can you try going to accounting >chart of accounts>above the word action on the left-hand side is a pencil, print symbol, and a cog>click on the cog>include inactive>search for that named sub-account in the search box. Does it then show up?
Thanks
Hello Mistopher,
Can you do some troubleshooting and see if that resolved this, can you clear your cache and cookies and see if the sub-account shows let us know how you get on. And you also make you that you did make it as a subaccount as if it has not been done correctly that could also be a reason why you can't see it.
Hi Ashleigh,
Thank you for your reply to my question. I have cleared my cache and cookies but the sub-account is still not visible in the Chart of Accounts. Here is some additional context that might be useful:
- I know the sub-account has been created because I can see it in some reports where expenses have been recorded to it
- the parent account for the sub-account is 'Bank Charges'
- some other sub-accounts (with different parent accounts) are visible in my Chart of Accounts, so it seems the issue is specific to this sub-account rather than sub-accounts in general
If you have any further suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Chris

Hi Chris
Great, I'm glad that found it. Any further questions, you can always ask them in the Community:)
My sub accounts aren't displaying when trying to enter a cash sale, however, they are showing in the full account list. Please advise.
Hi there, @MEREDA. I'm here to assist you with the issue you're facing regarding your sub accounts not displaying.
The subaccounts you're looking for might be marked as inactive. These accounts won't appear in certain transaction screens, which could be why they're not showing up while entering a cash sale.
To fix this, please follow these steps:
If they're still missing, you may have accumulated too much historical data. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster. Not to worry, clearing them will do the trick.
First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
If it works, switch back to your regular browser. Then, clear its cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported one.
Additionally, you can view your sales transactions through various reports and transaction lists in QuickBooks Online.
Feel free to add a reply below if you need further assistance with managing your accounts. I'm always here to assist.
