Why is QB advanced payroll auto journal number saying VAT payment 03/22?

If you have custom transaction numbers enabled then this field will auto-fill with the consecutive number of the last transaction entered. It is likely that the last transaction entered prior to running the payroll was a journal entry with the transaction number field edited to be VAT payment 03/21.

Hi, I've had this issue since April 2019 and have been in touch with QB technical dept.

They couldn't resolve this, even after various tests.

I feel it's a bug but it seems like not a lot of users are affected

I've checked our records for open investigation related to this concern. However, there are no similar reports that we can link to it.
