Thanks for posting your inquiry about the categories that unexpectedly disappeared when working with receipts in QuickBooks Online, thebeargardener.

 

I'd also like to ask if you're using the QBO mobile app. If so, I want to share that we received a few similar reports about this issue a few days ago.

 

However, our engineers were able to quickly find a solution and have recently released an update to restore the missing categories.

 

To apply this fix, I would recommend updating the app on your device. Alternatively, you can also temporarily remove and then reinstall the app.

 

Here's what you need to do:

 

  1. Tap and hold the QBO mobile app on your phone.
  2. Drag the app to the Uninstall section.
  3. Click Yes to confirm.

 

After uninstalling, you can download the app again using this link: iOS.

I am having them same issue. I lost all my categories and receipts for the last 12 month. This happened after updating my app on my Iphone.
Please help with this as it will cost many many hours of work and also means I lost receipts.

We're sorry to see you've had trouble with missing data. If a bank feed was deleted, we can recover all associated transactions as previously categorised, meaning you won't have to re-import these.
