Bank account matching

Hi

I am new to Quickbooks. I have connected my bank account to QB, I can see deposits I've made into my bank account in QB, I can also see transactions like card payments etc in QB. However, the balance of the account in QB (cash Balance) does not match my bank account.

Any thoughts?

Rob

Bank account matching

Hello, Robert.

Thank you for sharing your concern in the Community. I'd like to share some insights about bank feeds.

From a business perspective, the bank and QuickBooks balance needs to match when performing reconciliation and migration.

You also need to check why they don't match to fix them.

Here are some reasons why balances do not match:

  • Outstanding transactions
  • New transactions for a connected account
  • Duplicate transactions
  • Edited or deleted transactions
  • Credit card (liability) account

You may check this article that can help you on how to fix the differences between QuickBooks balance and Bank balance.

Also, I encourage you to reconcile your accounts in QBDT regularly (every month). This helps monitor your income and expenses and detect possible errors accordingly.
