Hi @philm1

Search instead for 'factoring' rather than 'discounting' - there are several threads about it.

I don't do it myself so can't give you a walk through but ...

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/transactions/invoice-factoring/01/398274#M4269

suggests setting up a dummy bank account.

Hope this helps.

Hello there, @philm1.

You can utilize the Discount feature to enter the percentage or value of the amount you want to invoice to your client. Let me guide you through the process.

Here's how to turn on the option:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. From the left menu, select Sales.
  3. Go to the Sales form content section, click the pencil icon to edit.
  4. Put a checkmark to the Discount checkbox to turn it on.
  5. Click Save, then Done.

Once done, you now have the option to apply a discount, depending on your preference.

Discount percent applies a percentage discount on the total amount on an invoice.

Discount value is straightforward in the sense that whatever value you input on the box will be the discount of the total amount on the invoice.

You can read this article for more details: Add a discount to an invoice or sales receipt in QuickBooks Online. Please know that this article is for the US version, but it also applies to UK.

Thanks but that's not what I meant.

I use ABN Amro for invoice discounting i.e. I invoice the client and I can draw down up to 90% of the value of all invoices from ABN. I only draw down what I require. The client pays ABN. ABN charge me (various charges) for this facility.
