Delivery Field?

Hi QBers,

Does anyone know if you can add a "Delivery Charge" field at the bottom of the invoice that's unaffected by the "Discounts" field?

Thanks in advance!

Charlie

Delivery Field?

Currently, there is no option to add a Delivery Charge field at the bottom of the invoice, Charlie. However, you can utilize the Custom Field to add one. Let me show you how.

When adding a Delivery Charge field using the Custom Field feature, please note that this will be added at the top of the invoice instead of the bottom. Please follow the steps below.

To modify your custom fields, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Settings icon, and then choose Custom fields.
  2. You can either click Edit for the field you want to change or Add field to add a new one.
  3. Enter a Name, then select a Data Type.
  4. Choose a form, then tick the Print on form icon.
  5. After making your modifications, click Save to apply the changes.

Once done, create an invoice to check if you can now see the Delivery Field:

Delivery Field?

Thanks for the advice ClaireSamantha, but I've already done something similar and it's still affected by any discounts I apply..  I presume your way is too?

Delivery Field?

Thank you for getting back with an update, charliee. Allow me to provide clarification on the delivery charges field affecting your discount field.

First, it's important to understand that custom fields are used to add extra information to invoices that customers can see. However, these fields do not affect the invoice's computation or alter the financial calculations.

On the other hand, line items on an invoice only affect the financial calculations. If you apply a discount to an invoice, the amount of the discount depends on these line items.

Additionally, it’s important to make sure that these line items and any discounts are correctly entered, to ensure that your invoices reflect the correct charges and help maintain robust financial records.
